Pet Care Relay Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Pet Care Relay app. The Life Orchestrator platform has its own policy, linked at the end of this page.

Introduction

Pet Care Relay (“the App”) is developed by Life Orchestrator. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Data Collection

Local-first architecture with household sync

Pet Care Relay uses a local-first approach with optional household synchronisation.

Data stored locally on your device:

  • Pet profiles: name, species, breed, age, and photo
  • Care logs: feeding, walks, medication, and similar entries
  • Schedules and reminders
  • App preferences and settings

Data synced within your household, when you enable it:

  • Pet profiles and care logs are synced with household members
  • Sync uses end-to-end encryption
  • Only invited household members can access shared data

Data we do not collect

  • We do not collect personal identification beyond what you provide
  • We do not track your location; walk tracking is optional and stays local
  • We do not access contacts without permission, and only for household invites
  • We do not collect analytics or usage data without consent
  • We do not share pet data with veterinarians or pet services without consent

Household Features

How household sync works

When you create or join a household:

  • A unique household ID is generated
  • Members are invited by secure link or code
  • Pet data is synced in real time between household members
  • All household data is encrypted
  • You can leave a household at any time

What household members can see

When you invite someone to your household, they can see:

  • Pet profiles you have shared
  • Care logs from all household members
  • Your display name, but not your email address or phone number

Data Sharing

Life Orchestrator integration (optional)

If you choose to connect Pet Care Relay to Life Orchestrator:

  • Your pet and household data is synced to Life Orchestrator
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • You can integrate with Family Vault for enhanced coordination
  • Shared data is then governed by Life Orchestrator’s privacy policy

Third parties

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is never shared unless one of the following applies:

  • You explicitly enable Life Orchestrator sync
  • You invite members to your household
  • Disclosure is required by law
  • Disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or safety

Data Deletion

How to delete your data

You can delete your data at any time:

  1. Delete individual pets: go to Pet Profile, then Delete Pet
  2. Delete care logs: swipe left on any log entry and tap Delete
  3. Leave a household: go to Settings, then Household, then Leave Household
  4. Delete all local data: go to Settings, then Data Management, then Clear All Data
  5. Delete synced data: if connected to Life Orchestrator, go to Settings, then Life Orchestrator, then Disconnect and Delete Data

What happens when you leave a household

  • Your local copy of shared pet data is retained
  • Care logs you created remain visible to other household members
  • You lose access to updates from other members
  • Other members can no longer see your future activity

Uninstalling the App

Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data. Household data remains accessible to other members. Synced data held in Life Orchestrator must be deleted separately.

Data Security

  • All data is stored using secure device storage
  • Household sync uses end-to-end encryption
  • Synced data uses TLS 1.3 encryption in transit
  • Life Orchestrator uses AES-256 encryption at rest
  • We implement industry-standard security practices

Push Notifications

Pet Care Relay may send push notifications for:

  • Care task reminders
  • Updates from household members
  • Missed care alerts

You can disable notifications in Settings, then Notifications, or in your device settings.

Children’s Privacy

Pet Care Relay is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Household features require adult supervision for minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the date at the top of this page.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of data processing
